Who doesn’t like Thai Food?
In our workshop Thai Cuisine we explain that Thai food is undoubtedly one of the most popular cuisines worldwide.
How comes? It’s difficult not to like it.
Thai Cuisine is simply a clever combination of eastern and western influences harmoniously combined in that sour, sweet, salty, bitter and spicy flavour. By combining these flavours it brings a dish alive.
We all knew the eastern influences, however less known are the influences from the west. Especially around the 17th century when the portuguese, french and dutch became trade partners with the east.
When we say Thai food we immediately associate the word with Spicy food. One ingredient to make thai food spicy is the chili. But the chili does not originate in the eastern world. it was brought by Portuguese missionaries to Thailand. (The chili originate in south america).
There are a numerous Thai Dishes and every day the list is growing in our workshop Thai Cuisine we have the top 8:
1. Pad Thai (Thai style fried noodle)
2. Massaman Curry
3. Tom Yum Goong (Spicy Shrimp Soup)
4. Tom Kha Gai (Chicken in coconut)
5. Som Tam (Spicy Green Papaya Salad)
6. Laab Gai (Spicy Salad with meat and mint)
7. Panang curry shrimp (Thai Curry)
8. Gaeng Keow Wan (green curry)
One of the above mentioned dishes is probably your favoured. You do not need to go to a Thai restaurant to order it. Why not making it yourself. They are easy to make , anybody can learn it. Just select a few of your favourite recipes and learn how to prepare them in a workshop thai cooking.
